Free Weed From The Government!
How about getting Michael Moore and Jack Herer together for a documentary?

That would be an amazing thing if it could work...have you tried contacting Herer?
I've gotta run now, but when I get home again, I'll write that e-mail to moore.

I doubt Michael Moore is as influential as some might think, but it's not like our typical media is going to cover this story so I say it's a great idea. I was a bit disappointed Sicko didn't mention anything about medical marijuana...but really, it wouldn't have fit in anyway with what he was talking about. If it gets people talking about medical marijuana, or marijuana reform, then its worth it. I'll write him a short message when I get back home.

Just out of curiosity, has there ever been a response to your initial inquiry?
I like the way Michael Moore presents his theories in the documentaries, he is certainly passionate about what he believes in. But, he can also sometimes be rather biased with his views on the subject at hand, and has been known to harbor a few inaccuracies in his films. But, hey, when you're able to film & produce your own documentaries, you're allowed that creative-expressive freedom.
What is his stance on the legality of marijuana in the first place? Is he an advocate? If not, I doubt he'd have much willingness to take part in such a film.

Great idea, but Michael Moore is jut too damned controversial.
I would worry that his being linked to the project would actually cause more harm than good. I can see the FOX coverage already. Oy.
However, I plead ignornace re: other documentary filmmakers.
Tell me who to write to.

As far as his bias goes--I am not offended by it. If he were biased in favor of corporate greed, then I would have a problem.

I really like your enthusiasm, and deeply respect what you stand for! As far as Mr. Moore's films, I've always personally enjoyed them...I respect the man for taking the time (and money) needed to be so vocal about important matters. I think it's great that people are at least opening their eyes, and actually paying attention to the topics that Moore lays before them. He'd be a great advocate for cannabis law reform, so if you do decide to start a letter writing campaign to him (or anyone of significance, for that matter), please post it here...so I can partake! As for writing emails and letters to representatives, editors, media sources, etc., I've been doing that for years...and will continue to do so. I'm glad to see more and more like-minded individuals who are willing to take the time to try and make a difference!
Take care.

I personally think we should contact Al Gore. That guy can make a very compelling documentary.
