You haven't heard enough of him. I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of Bright Eyes, I like them, but they aren't my favorite, but what he did with the Desparecidos is amazing. I wish he dropped Bright Eyes and continued with them. Conor Oberst has quite a range one doesn't expect, and he only limits himself.

I agree I wouldn't say he's the greatest because they are so many talented songwriters. But he doesn't have a singular style which many believe he does.
