Urgent . . . Infrared chopper problem!!!!!!
they don't shine an 'infra-red' lamp at anything ... they use infra-red camera film, (which shows cannabis plants up as almost white on the finished photo) ... :smokin:

Urgent . . . Infrared chopper problem!!!!!!
think this thread is really getting off track this is outdoors not indoors while im sure the original poster saw a helicopter flying low around his plants what the helicopter was using in the form of cameras if any is really just about anyones guess.
and no they wouldnt need a search warrant to look for outdoor plants and they would not even need one to go onto his property and erradicate the plants or attempt to gather more evidence for a conviction.

I don't think they even use this much at all. I'm sure it exists, but to me it's just a scare tactic. They try to convey the idea of it being widely used to bust people, but I have yet to hear of such an event. Of course, I could be wrong.

""However if your still a bit paranoid, There is one thing Infa-Red cant see through.. Lead!"" -the_camel" Thermographic cameras, sometimes called a FLIR (Forward Looking InfraRed) don't "see through" anything, they read the infrared radiation from the object. Generally speaking, the higher an object's temperature is, the more infrared radiation it emits. The exception is highly reflective materials, they are harder to read and give false readings. Please do research before you post, bad info like that could get someone in trouble.

The only way to defeat infra red is to insulate enough that the heat does not reach the outside surface and theres several ways to do that. Air space between outside surface and inside walls with outside air blown through the airspace and the heat dumped into large underground drainage tubes is the best..
As for choppers spotting plants , they see the heat difference for the area due to cultivation and density of plants. The plant growing wild has no difference in heat signature than any other equal size weed . But when you add High Nute soil, Regular water and a bunch of cared for plants they stick out like a sore thumb in infrared.
But a plant here and there scattered in the area and no overly visited and maintained are as invisible to infrared as a milkweed.Q
