Urgent . . . Infrared chopper problem!!!!!!
I think since your in Maine(if your in Maine), You really have little to worry about. I have many friends living in Maine. I spoke to a few and they said that Maine is next to Cali. as far as weed. they said that for 2-4 Plants outdoors, it might not even be worth there time. they said that there only looking for "more than personal". they also said that worst case they could think of would be them coming to tear them up.
I never grew in Maine so I never assessed the risks but my peeps do grow and they didn't sound as if this was really an issue. They were saying that they may have noticed one and been searching for the cashcropper stash.
Good luck with this. I'll be hoping for ya.

Urgent . . . Infrared chopper problem!!!!!!
All I can say is that I have flown with our deputy sheriff ( not in a helo but a piper cub they use around here ) My uncle is the Dep here and have seen cultivated plants show up well but have also seen the scan of a big pasture and seen nothing and I know for a fact it had quite a few hemp plants scattered about.. So I can only go by that and the understanding the IR is IR is IR and it only sees a heat bloom.. The bloom from a torch and a lighter is the same IR freq just one is hotter and radiates more heat. which shows up whiter .. So the plants you saw are Hotter than the surrounding area. Logic tells me its due to external sources increasing the temp of the plants you saw. Cause Plants are Cold Blooded so to speak and there would have to be a mechanism to cause a mass heat increase in a target plant.. Now if they used UV reflectivity they would be popin single plants all over the place.. Cause each living organism is UV reflective in different ranges of the UV spectrum because its such a short wave length small variables can be easily detected. Since IR wave lengths are so long the range we can detect is much narrower and we (at this time ) only detect intensity not freq range.. IMHO

tilled soil will show up as hot(from what i have read) especially when worked over and ammendments have been made. i dont know if it is movie lore, and it might be. that if you can find a fresh field and lay in it they couldnt see your heat outline. a few scattered plants shouldnt show up. i think it was a vietnam movie i watched now that i think about it.
and yes police still need warrants but if the have probable cause such as seeing a pipe or drugs or weapons, something along that line they have a right to search without a warrant. no we didnt vote on that congress or some other higher power made that decission.
