Haha, Dr. Phil kicked them offstage.
i don't think any of us have a right to talk whether it's right or wrong (and don't take that as me defending the series)
i think it's really up to the 'bums' in all honesty... i mean shit like his spoof of steve irwin, unless it was planned is seriously fucked up, but otherwise, these people go along with it and they're happy to do so... and alot of people would do the same, people will do some dumb crazy shit to get on tv/dvd/be spread over the net.... (fame)
in all honesty i think it's up to them... and i've yet to see any bum only half way particpate, much less debate it....

At least one of us did. . . . on the occasions when the show provided it!! I don't have to have the drama or the fighting or buffoonery (Dr. Phil himself). I suppose this is why perhaps I do better with well-written books instead, at least since his show has taken the Springerized turn.

well i never knew any of that.... (the rehab and shit part)
as for the rest i still stand by what i said... for the ones that don't really care and just see the money and fame, who are we to really stand in the way.... i mean afterall... everyone of us here believes someone else shouldn't be in charge of making our decisions on what's right or healthy...
or do you wanna be just like the govt. and every other high ranking council and do the whole double standard thing.. where it's ok to say one thing, then on another subject do the exact opposite...?

I have to agree with you, Nation 1ne. I think such exploitation of the bums is the lowest of the low. But in all honesty, I think Phil McGraw exploits situations, too, as someone else said. He simply does it a slight bit higher up the food chain. Ethically/morally, both situations are troubling, aren't they? At least for the exploitees.

I'm sorry but that's obviously not the case. I'm willing to believe that all of them bums are alcoholics or have some form of addiction. None of them guys are doing it because they think it's a good old laugh. Also, them bums are hardly in a position to turn down the money.

why the hell are you trying to argue with me anyways? is it becuaes i'm the only one who will respond, if you're so appaled by it, why don't you write the creator...?
as for this i'm done. i said what i have to say on the subject and i stand by it.
if you can't see how it's hypocritical then i misjudged you, because it's pretty obvious how.

Ermmm, if you look back mate I think you'll find you're the one who approached me. I said this is morally wrong and you challenged that statement. N' of course it because you're the only one who responded, it would be rude to ignore you.

What the hell? I never justified Dr. Phils actions. N' I'm sorry but no, rape victims have more sense and self control than a bum who is an alcoholic and living rough on the street. Not only that Dr. Phils methods are a lot more ethical as Birdy put it, it also helps raise awareness and an understanding of how these criminals affect peoples lives.
