    Barack Obama for President?

So I'm not thaaaaat into Politics, and I'm sorry if any of this has been discussed earlier... but Barack Obama, it seems, is a 2008 Presidential Candidate.

Now, I certainly do not know enough about ANY of the candidates to really hold an opinion, but I was wondering...

Do you think, since Barack Obama is black, if he won Presidency he would know what it takes to really make men (and women) equal? We've never had a President that didn't fit the "Free Man" picture.... middle aged, and white. But if we had a black man (purely for example), would he take into consideration the own age of slavery brought upon his people, and make sure that equality were delivered to every human?

    What do we think?

Well, while I would vote for Obama if he won the primaries, I doubt that he would be fighting for equality like that because his father is African, not African American. There's a big difference there.

I don't think the race of a person gives them any advantage in being able to make us 'more equal' In my opinion many black people in the cities hate white people just as much as some white people hate black people in the country and suburbs.

But you would never necessarily elect a president who so clearly hated ANY people -- except for Bush with the gays, and lol according to Kanye West, Bush with the blacks too...

Too, I'm not saying that just the color of his skin will enable him to do better things, but the fact is that no other president's race has been so tormented in the past, and I just thought maybe a black president would see past the racism bullshit and get down to what was really the issue, we are all human under the same government, and the laws should apply to us all equally.

That being said, I would be personally disappointed if a Black president did not address equality for all. But I do understand what you mean about his father being African, not African American.

But Barack Obama aside, do you think ANY hypothetical black president would be more likely to want freedom for all?

I see what your saying, but its not like one guy can become president and change everybody's racist views in the world.

Plus I'm pretty sure it has been a goal of most every person in politics since the civil rights movement to make things more equal. At this point it is up to the individual to change the view of the world.

I dunno, Bush doesn't seem very keen on making Gays equal.

But yes, I do agree that it is up to the individual. Unfortunately, regardless of how many individuals make up the force, sometimes it just doesn't help.

I think Ron Paul would make a much better president.

I think a majority of America just isn't ready for the gay liberation. Bush probably isn't helping, but just give it a few more years for some of the more conservative members of our society to open their eyes or die off and gays will have full freedom before you know it.

Religion isn't helping Gays out either. I think that is one of the biggest things hindering progress for gays.

After doing some research... I found out that Barack Obama is not in favor of legalization of Marijuana. Clinton on the other hand talk about legalization. She mention that she want to stop funding to those DEA who kept on raiding those business and people who are on Medical marijuana. Lets Clinton win. We don't need a black muslim like Barack Obama for president. If he favor of legalization... then I would vote for him but otherwise.... since he's not in favor... hell with him.

I'd have obama over that robotic clinton bitch any day...even if I knew by electing Clinton weed would be legalized.
