    whats the easiest, cheapest, way to lower humidity???

    over the past few days it's been raining and now very humid out side and now in my room it's like 60 to 70 % is there a cheap way to dry it up in there??anybody use that stuff called damp rid it's a lil pale that has this gel type stuff would that work or is there something i could build??

    You can look online to find different types that are available and what the prices should be and then you can order online or find what you need at a local store.

    ...maybe be pick up a $10 one on the way just to have for now, and as a backup.

    You don't really know if one is good, so you need a backup to check on your primary. Unfortunately, you have no way of knowing if your secondary is accurate so you either have to put a little faith in the instruments or start thinking redundancy in terms that get real anal, real quick.

    dehumidifier (sp)...only thing i can think of, shouldnt be that much mine was only 30-40 bucks canadian tire (but that only in canada)

    pale, there are definately other gauges at home depot. I just saw them yesterday. you can get a digital thermo/hyogrometer for 30 bucks.

    also, I found out the hard way that neither home depot nor wal-mart has dehumidifiers in stock at the store. So order one online NOW if you want to get it 10 days from now.

    WalMart has some dehumidifiers for reasonable prices. :thumbsup:
