I think if she truely cares for you, she would be willing to listen. you can always tell her to pick "no plants" or "you" and make it her decission. this might sound bad, but try to make it seem like she is unreasonable for getting upset at some stupid plants or somthing, put her on the spot. manipulative, i know, but it might help.
