bowl wont lite!

i held the lighter over my bowl for like 1 min and only a little piece of it lit up and then died! what the hell? do I need a special lighter? if so where can i find one?

ok first of all like he said bowl might be too tight...second of all the shit might be too fresh....when you pack a bowl it should be packed tight so that it won't fall out when turned upside down but you should still be able to suck freely.....if it's a made pipe then you might want to check and make sure everything is airtight (if it's a pipe put your thumb over the bowl tight and blow, very little or no air should escape. if it's a bong cover the bowl and the carb and blow...again very little or no air should come out.) i don't know how to explain how dry bud should be.

its a homemade bong thats a soda bottle, the bowl is a trumpet mouthpiece its not airtight though...whats something good to make it airtight cause im using scotch tape lol

ok ok i packed it and it worked, i just finished a new bong that is a bamboo tube with that kick ass trumpet mouthpiece! we have a bamboo forest at out house and my parents make stuff with it and sell it soo... that bong hits goood! the bamboo gives it a good taste! yummm im a little baked right now,
