Crossing Two Different Strains!!!!
What is the process or how do you cross different strains? Another question, could you cross a marijuana seed with a fruit such as a watermelon? I'm new to growing, so give me some insight!!! Thanks fellas.

Crossing Two Different Strains!!!!
Well, I will answer the silly question first... nope, you can't cross cannabis with watermelon. Not even with its cousin hops, although you could GRAFT onto hops if you were REALLY, REALLY bored.
The process for crossing 2 strains is this:
Grow some strains
Think about what you like in each
Pick parents that show those traits
Cross them
Keep records
Continue to cross offspring until the offspring are stable for the traits you like.
It's complicated and time consuming, but that's the simple answer to your question.

Crossing Two Different Strains!!!!
Sorry. Read. This is pretty much high school level biology... That's the best, simplest explanation I can give ya. You don't cross the roots :wtf: you cross a male and a female... pollen? Ovules? Um... ???

Crossing Two Different Strains!!!!
LOL... Look up botany and breeding for traits. What your going to prolly want to do is get a good strain that you like and cross it huh. If you simply take two strains and cross them, your more than likely going to come out with a F2. If you want to get a true F1, you will have to find two IBLs and cross them. All theses are botany terms, and you will have to spend LOTS of time reading to understand them all. Once you have looked into it, try to find some uncrossed IBLs, or if you really feel ready after reading up on this, get a strain you like and cube it. That is the best way to preserve genetics that some one else has created, but it takes about 2 yrs to do. Breeders dont want you to recreate there exact F1, so they go through the trouble to make sure its not easy for you. The only true way to copy a strain is to get your hands on the P1. Im just blabbering now so I will stop, go read up on it. Breeding can be FUN!!!
