Well, now that we've all tooled on poor Adam- let's examine the etiology.

Mech is obviously a corruption of Mex, which is a shortening of Mexican, which refers to anything grown in Mexico- good, bad, or indifferant. When I was out there, I actually preferred to buy from Mexican kids- pot was just as good as and 1/5th the price of what the delivery sources had. However, they often would carry two grades- you got one if you only spoke English, and another if you had enough Spanish to say, ask for a bathroom. Or a bag.
As a result, mexican smoke got a bad rep in less diverse communities.

Chron was the bad guy in a Mystery Science Theater flick that I saw once- but I don't think that's what he's talking about. I'm sure that, whether he knows it or not, he's abbreviating " chronic"- which describes the smoker, not the smoke. Still, it was used to refer to " better" smoke in Cal in the mid-nineties, if you got most of your " street talk" from Snoop Dog CDs. " Chronic" smokers do tend to find pretty good connections. IIRC, one of the dutch breeders named a strain " the Chronic" at about this time, to take advantage of all the kiddies in baggy pants who wanted to smoke " chronic".

Mech(agodzilla) vs Chron- I'm gonna grab some popcorn and a fatty - it's the Creature Double Feature!
