I don't understand girls..

There's this girl I really like, and we have been friends for a while but last summer i admitted to her that I had a crush on her, but she said that she didn't feel the same way ect.. Last year I moved and during the winter she sent me a text message saying "I wish you were still here, your the only person that ever understood me". Well I am actually back in town (possibly for good) and she's acting like barely a friend. I have seen her maybe 3 times in the two months i've been back, and I think she ignores my calls/texts. Should I bother trying so hard to be her friend? I still really like her, but i'm sick of her texting me asking for drugs, but when she doesn't need anything she RARELY replies. She also gives us no time alone for me to explain things. Anybody have any suggestions what i should do?

well while i'm hesitant to say this about all women....

women want what they can't have... simple as that.... there are soooooooooo many instances of a girl not liking some guy, until he was unavailable to her... then all of a sudden she wants him... (i.e. you chase after her for upwards of a year, nothing... you get with some other chick after giving up, the next week all of a sudden she wants you)

(edit: Weedhound: we're not going out so i can't "dump" her, and there are some days when she does actually talk to me when she's depressed and i'm a little worried that if i didn't help her she might do something stupid ((she's been to the hospital for alcohol poisoning because she drinks to much when she's depressed))

yes, but that's also true for a lot of men - they want what they can't have. i've seen that many many many times. i'm not denying that women are like that, and i'm not saying that all women or all men are like that, but yes, there are many of both sexes that are like that (in my opinion)

and that's why i laughed. because it's true concerning both women and men.

anyways, dude, hate to say this, but yes, it does sound like she's just using you for drugs. yes, be her friend, but don't go out of your way for her. if she's going to be a fair-weather friend, really there's no reason to bust your ass going out of your way for her. it sounds like she's taking advantage of your niceness and possibly taking advantage because she knows that you did have a crush on her (do you still? if you do, i really think she's not treating you right, don't put up with that shit dude). i don't think you should completely drop her as a friend, but she'll get the message if you're not always there at her every beck and call. don't let her play mind games with you, sounds like thats what she's doing.
