This is a form of gurilla warfar, "take from them everything and give back nuthiung"

That's why you wanna get multiple anti-virus/spyware/general malware programs and de-activate their guards to avoid resource gobbling and program conflicts. Generally something in the mix will pick it out. Even if not, you can always go through HiJack This and pick out the running processes individually.
Also you should empty all your temporary files and wipe your junk-cookies. A good free cleaning program like CCleaner (formerly "crap cleaner") is good to have. And if all else fails, though it usually doesn't becaues real badass viruses are rare, you can manually edit your registry plus kill some running processes with your computer in safemode.

It doesn't matter how sneaky, hidden, veiled, destructive, or rapid-breeding your malware is, there's always a way to find and kill it, and 95% of the time it's easy to do so. The other 5% are still 100% killable with a little effort.

Both, it's using up system resources to upload anything. But you can limit you upload speed. You could also be a total jerk and not share at all, but we need people to share damnit! haha, just pokin' fun at you, I don't share myself but only because my lame-ass internet provider has a monthly limit on how much I can upload/download. So if I shared I'd never get to download squat!

Oh btw, you may want to check your running processes. If you have something like Itunes or Antivir running in the background, those will gobble your resources thoroughly. Bitcomet's a bitch with that too, I can't even surf the web with it running since it gets so slow.

my computer used to own. its a laptop 30gb harddrive, it used to run very fast, but lately it sucks. i have about 10GB left...around 12gb of music and 8gb of other shit. is there a reason its running realllllllly slow? its been slow since ive had all this music, but i still have 10gb left thats no reason for it to barely move.

i use ares, and i download a lot. but i always unshare my music/videos/movies as soon as they download, because i'm paranoid about getting caught. at my school, if you download stuff and share it and they catch you, they can block your internet access on campus and you have to go before some committee to get your internet access back (this has happened to a couple of my friends)...so i dont wanna deal with that...even though i haven't lived on campus in awhile, i just got in the habit of unsharing my stuff as soon as it downloaded when i did live on campus.

**sorry, i dont know too too much about computers/computer programs, so if i said something that was obviously stupid, please don't flame me too much **
