It sounds, then, that it's not illegal to download anything, just upload - as in distribute. Here in Canada it's all legal, I love it!

I used to be a fanatic music collector. I'd go broke buying all the CD's I love, but after a while I just realized there are too many bands I've been discovering and I couldn't possibly have the money to buy them all, let alone even a few of them. There's much more important things I have to save/spend my money on right now, so I wouldn't buy the music anyway, hence it makes no difference to music industry profits whether or not I listen to it. And still, if it's one of my beloved classics releasing a new album, like Iron Maiden or Motorhead, then I'm definately buying the cd and keeping my discography full.

Use Peerguardian Peerguardian http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/] The Recording Industry Association of America has been suing people for downloading music online, and unless you live in Canada you might be at risk. While you can't be arrested for doing it, you can be sued. The RIAA pulls you IP address from a copyrighted song they download from you. Then when they get that ip address they contact a judge who gives them a subpoena to get your real ID from your internet provider. Peer Guardian uses a list of Rating: 5
