the whole point of releasing albums is to get the music out to fans so that they will come to your concert, where the artists make pretty much all of their money. the bands barely make any thing of cd sales

Quite true. But the industry's objections aren't based on the profits that go to the bands, it's about the cd stores and their employees, assembly line workers, transportation people etc.

That's what the RIAA claims, but since EMI, Sony, Universal, and Warner won't release numbers no one really knows if that's true or not.

anyone who uses those site where people can download form you is crazey in the first place unless you have thousands of dollars in virus protection. those site slow your computer to a crawl and usualy are filled with viruses, I dont download anything but I got free music..... CD quality not MP3, I also watch movies such as the new Jason Bourne movie, I dont fear lars or the judges or controlers in his pocket or if its the other way around they can come here Im waiting. The arts should be free, in the future if no one knows thier music cause not to many people whow bought the CD are still alive, their music will die. And then they can sue me then when I dont know who they are and dont give a fuk who they are.

Well if you want to download music and not get a virus you can just scan the file before you open it because viruses won't infect you're computer just by downloading the file you have to run it, if you want to.

Anyways, let the artists tour and make the money that way any ways. They just want to be able to throw a cd together one weekend and make a million dollars off of it. Let them produce the music for free and then go perform for their fans. That's the way it should be any ways.

While Peer Guardian is a good idea, it won't guarantee you from being caught. I've gotten numerous letters (Universal, Blizzard, etc) while still using it. It just blocks known ranges, which helps, but a lot of companies are using third parties as fronts to catch you.

if you live in the USA and are paranoid, PeerGuardian isn't the answer (although it does help). the answer is private trackers/newsgroups. on anything public it's easy to get caught.
