These people do not necessarily represent the preferences of well-seasoned recreational users. We've also got people that are medical users and others, like me, that are both. There are many types here, and room for all of us - but we should not let the policies of the site become dominated by any one faction.

Some of the kids on here are fine, but it was getting out of hand with the ones who were very immature even for adolescents.
As is so often the case, you manage to tinge your comments with disdain and at the same time miss the central point of what has been going on here for nearly a year now. More times than I care to count, you've taken issue with the fact that we've taken down posts based on immaturity, stupidity, or an apparent stoner stereotype, assuming that that's being done out of personal mod motivation to present a certain image. But that's not been what those take-downs have been about at all.

The so-called "well-scrubbed respectable" image you so often object to is actually a clear part of our marching orders from our board owner, who's making a valiant effort to run a profitable business here that markets to informed, adult cannabis users and advocates and which is supported by advertisers whom that audience has the maturity, discretion and buying power to support. In other words, adult people who will help advance the cannabis cause, legally, medically and recreationally, rather than detract from it.

The thread take-downs, closures and other actions you've interpreted as examples of mods aggressively inflicting their preferences and personalities on others have in fact been our response to clear, concise direction from a forward-thinking business owner. He has instructed us to raise level of discourse here, improve the level of maturity and civility, and make every effort to reflect positively on cannabis users and advocates everywhere. If that goes against your image of proper "pothead tolerance," then so be it. You need to be aware, however, that it's very much the image and business direction of the gentleman who owns this site. So you might want to make your peace with the board direction and, at long last, realize that we're acting at Sundance's behest, not our own.
