ok someone's bound to know what this was....
didn't take pics but you probably wouldn't have been able to see it anyway.... the wife could barely see it... took her nearly a full minute to spot it evenw ith me pointing right at it...
it looked like a spider's egg sack.... plastered to the cieling.... but it was the size of a golf ball... it also contained no baby spiders or bug carcasses....
it was perfectly cylindrical..
any ideas?slipknotpsycho Reviewed by slipknotpsycho on . ok someone's bound to know what this was.... didn't take pics but you probably wouldn't have been able to see it anyway.... the wife could barely see it... took her nearly a full minute to spot it evenw ith me pointing right at it... it looked like a spider's egg sack.... plastered to the cieling.... but it was the size of a golf ball... it also contained no baby spiders or bug carcasses.... it was perfectly cylindrical.. any ideas? What color was it? Brown? We have dirt-dauber nests (wasp nests) that look perfectly cylindrical and are about the size of a golf ball here. There's one hanging from one of the plant hooks on our front porch at the moment. When I'm feeling brave, I'm going to go out there with a broom and knock it down, then spray the garden hose to wash off the traces of mud.

no it's not a dirt dobber nest and it's white.... well was white...
it was spider webbing.... which is why i'm confused i've never seen anything like this... it wasn't silk worm, or anything like that... it was like a less dense cotton ball cut in half glued to our ceiling (yeah i said pefect cylindrical i forgot to say it was only half lol)
btw you should leave dirt dobber nests unless you like a spider infesed house...
they're not aggresive (tho they may attack if you fuck with them, they're not like red wasps) and they usually prey solely on spiders... atleast the kind we have here.... they're not ball nests tho... they kinda look like organ pipes.... usually 5-6 all connected together..
then there are the ones that look like someone through a mud clump at your house (they're often round, but far from perfection) not sure if tehy're the same species tho

That sort of sounds like a writing spider's egg sack. They're brown and round, made of and suspended by spider silk, and they have a little point on the top, sort of like a teardrop.
