I am assuming you live in Michigan. Possession of under an ounce can get you up to 90 days in jail and 100$ fine. It is a misdemeanor. This is from NORML. I would be incredibly surprised if you went to jail. If you do it will be for a day or two but I don't think you will go unless you have priors. Do you have any priors? Anyway, here's the story... Me and my friends decide we want to watch 300 so we go rent it and head back to smoke at our usual spot. My friend that was meeting up with us said that he saw a cop at our spot like a week ago or whatever so we went to this parking lot he knew and parked in the back for a few minutes to smoke.
