A culture cannot be represented by certain people.

I hope I don't offend anyone. But I'm not going to bite my tounge. Because it's gotten out of hand. At first I was understanding but now my family is getting attacked. at first I considered them actions of stupid, drunk, maybe ignorant guys but now it's women, men, kids etc.
I'm talking about the negative views towards hispanics in the U.S.
Mainly, it's confusion. They think I'm mexican or puerto rican. but don't seem to respect my colombian background once I clear it up for them. It's not EVERY white person I come across. People in my bank seem to love me. lol
The "Classy" people seem to want to know me first before they judge. It's the rural, southeren, cowboy type white group.
I walk into a bar and I'm treated as a poor, filthy, unworthy client because of my strong latin looks. One time, the 2 white guys I was with got into a fight because of it. for "hanging out with a dirty mexican".
anyways, the point of all this is that, i've read somewhere that the majority of the military is black and hispanic. hispanic also includes mexican.
so if there is such a strong hispanic presence in the military and they our over there fighting for OUR countries "cause", why are these conservative-type cowboys giving hispanics so much grief? why is my mother getting spit on? why is my grandmother's accent getting made fun of? why not take out all the hispanics and see what your left with? why not make it an all white army if hispanics are so stupid?

like I said in the title, A culture cannot be represented by certain people. it just seems like every conservative, rural white person I come across looks at me like I'm total shit.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone. lol this thread will most likely get deleted by someone. I can care less, I just needed to get that off my chest.

    have a nice day.

its not an opinion its a fact, this country would die without immigrants, and as far as taxes go, immigrants who want to become legal (which is most if not all) pay taxes because it helps them get their citizenship when they ask for it, so in reality when it comes to taxes your government would much rather have us as citizens than actual Americans. just to be clear I'm not attacking you in any way, just spittin some facts for the peeps reading this

in southern california, the mexicans here don\'t give your race a good name. yes, their are lots of very nice hard working ones, but there are a lot of illegals where i live. i am in no means racist, but i don\'t respect people that don\'t pay their taxes and cheat the system.

this country was based on immigrants but that argument is played out
are you on crack? this country IS and always WILL be based on immigrants, unless the US does something as retarded as kicking every immigrant out,in which case there just wont be a US anymore. And it is not just public schools that are low on the ratings, it is the country as a whole.

    Beautifully expressed, my friend!

A Hispanic person is a person from Spain and Latin is a dead language that was used by the Catholic church to oppress people.
The words Hispanic and Latino are insults to the Spanish speaking people I know that are proud of their true heritage.
When the Spaniards got here 500 years ago, they raped and pillaged, murdered and infested the native peoples with new deadly diseases along with wiping out whole new to them races of peoples lifestyle and making them Christains.
Columbians are not Hispanics either, they are Columbians that just so happen to speak Spanish because of an invasion 500 years ago by a bunch of greedy oppressive Christian fanatics.
lol thanks for the ColOmbian history lesson. at least you tried but too bad you are terribly wrong.
Colombians, like Puerto Ricans and Domincans, have an uneven mix of black, native and white(spanish) features.
Unlike mexicans and central americans or peru, bolivia, ecuador where you see dominant "native" features. If I had to guess it's because of the vast mayan and Incan(and MANY other)civilizations. But it's all relative because everyone is so different.

Your friends wouldn't "beat my ass" either(that's for sure lol), because I wouldn't call them "hispanics". I used the word "hispanic" because I was typing in English and it's how the U.S. classifies anyone that speaks spanish. Some central american countries get offended at calling them "mexican" too, most likely your "Guatalamalan" friend. But that's just misplaced pride.

I rather not make this an issue because it's stupid to argue my culture against someone that's talking about shit they heard.

The reply was reffered towards me and let me tell you....
I don't know what your intention was but all you accomplished was negative.
you come off kind of edgy and I don't appreciate it. besides, half the shit you said is "off".
so before you coment on someones culture, be sure of what comes out of your mouth, you might offend someone.

When I was in Florida a friend and I visited a beach. We were playing ball all day and pretty worn out. Anyway we walked by a Hispanic family who were near us, we all got chatting and they offered us food and drink. We were complete strangers to them, and they just invited us into the family gathering, I thought it was really decent of them.
