Convert watts into kilowatts (400W = 0.4kW).
So if a 400 watt is ran for 12 hours you would put: 12 hours x 0.4kW= 4.8kWh.
If your power cost is 8c/kWh like mine is, a 400W for 12hrs will cost (4.8* $0.08 =) $0.384 or a little under 40c for 12 hrs.
Then multiply the 40c a day times 30 days and you get the total cost for a month!

Stone sensation you would have to get charged about 50cents a kilowatt hour for your electricity bill to go up 50 bucks for one month.

A 1000watter at my citie's 8cents a kilowatt hour for 24 hours a day would only cost

(24hours x 1=24-----> 24 x .08cents/kwh= $1.92 a day.-----> $1.92 a day x 30 days= $57.60 for the month.

So you would have to be using a 1000 watt lamp 24 hours a day to get up to 50 bucks a month unless your electric company charges and insane price per kilowatt hour!
