here is how scientists plan to save the world
Although I'm in love with Futurama, I do believe that Frisky Dingo used the whole "push the world away from the sun" idea better. See, Killface was trying to push the earth INTO the sun, but the thing he was using for it went off early, so, due to earth's rotation, it pushed it just a little bit AWAY from the sun, thus curing global warming.
Anyway, in anything useful, that IS in "just a few billion years." Didn't scientists give the sun an actual lifespan of only, like, 5.6 billion years? Then it will expand to past the size of our solar system, then shrink down to, like, a 10th of its size, thus becoming a white dwarf...after having destroyed every planet in the process.
And, plus, I somewhat think that humans will/deserve to be wiped out in December, 2012. I mean, it doesn't effect my actions in life, but its always there in the back of my head.

and wait.... everyone keeps saying global warming is cuz of this and that...
but this article plainly states that the sun's growth will eventually make our current position inhabital......
isn't it slightly possible the never ending growth of the sun has something to do with that?
