aside from the unfortunate fatalities, it screws a city over when a bridge gets closed for what ever reason. Where I live I'm surrounded by the Passaic river and if something happens to a bridge ya gotta take day trips to get places Even down the street something happened with a water main blowing up or some shit and it somehow fucked up a bridge and cut the town in half... My friend lived right on the other side of the bridge and to walk to the next block he had to take a car detour while walking to get there..
