My parents and legalization.

The other day, I was riding in the car with my two parents- my father is more conservative-minded, and my mom? Well, I don't really know, she doesn't talk much about it, but I assume she's a more liberal-leaning libertarian. She is a healthcare provider, and a woman with many degrees. My dad works for an architectural firm.

Anywho, my dad knows without direct confession of me (joking around, my father saying "Oh maaaaaan it's 4:20!" and getting a laugh and a thumbs up out of me. He can tell in an instant if I am high, and he doesn't mind.) My mom doesn't know I smoke pot.

To get to the damn point, I was riding along with them in the car, and WITHOUT MY INITIATION, the conversation between them turned to pot. My mom got in one of the biggest frenzies politically I have ever seen. She seemed almost passionate about legalization for medicinal use. "They're just getting stoned, nothing wrong with that- it's medically useful!" And my father chimed in with the whole 'It created the basis for music in the 60s and 70s' deal- he LOVES hippie music.

Needless to say in fear of my mom thinking I'm a complete pot head, I carefully point out some research I 'randomly found' on the Internet about it, and then all Hell breaks loose with me quoting and citing articles on the benefits and lies of pot use, ect.

The conversation ended after we all reached a strong agreeance about pot. But my mom would certainly kill me if she found out I smoked pot. She did with my sister. I know.

So the other day, I heard her talking to my dad about it again, saying "they need to just chill out and smoke a joint or something"

I think when I move out, I will 100% tell her. Just hearing my mom talk so passionately about this particular subject makes me laugh and be happy inside

Your fucking lucky. My parents talk about weed sometimes, but they just spew out a bunch of bullshit about how bad it is. And the worst part is, i cant do shit but agree.
