bring bong to college?

I smoked out of bongs all the time at school.

If you're concerned, you could just bring a pipe until you meet some fellow potsmokers and can chill with them.. I definitely wouldn't roll up on the first day and whip the bong out.

It also depends on the size of the bong.. I had a small one in the dorms that did me well (probably about 6 inches) but 2 feet is kinda big to keep hidden.

Not to mention health and safety inspections.. so yeah, I suggest bringing a pipe or just papers and surviving off those till you meet someone who can keep the bong at their apartment (that's what I did).

Go to thrift stores and try to find a plain metal case that's big enough. Stuff it with foam (shape it to your bong as necessary) and hey-presto, an anonymous box that will also work if you need to take it places.

That's not very covert for moving though.

It probably isn't a good idea to bring it, just bring a pipe and some papers to be more covert, rather than a 2 foot bong lol. Its better to be safe than sorry, and getting kicked out of a dorm and having to move would complicate college a bit. BTW Congratulations on getting into college :thumbsup:

Beware, there are a lot of strange people in college.
You might find that your roomate has gone through your stuff and found your stash and reported you.
I repeat strange people.
Just trust me on this.

If you really can't leave it at home, but don't want to bring it right away, pack a box that is ready to take to your school at your convience. You get to play it as safe as it gets until you know your roomie, and your parents will never (hopefully) tear through your already packed and marked box.

yea, so right now I have a bong that's something like 2 ft tall. problem is that I'm going to University of Arizona. What do I do with it? It's a party school for sure, so I'm sure I'd use it. But...where would I put it, what if my roommates don't smoke or are stuck up pricks, how would I transport it, what if I get caught with it (expulsion possibly?), etc? Whole lot of problems with bringing it. Of course, if I leave it at home there's always the chance my parents might hijack my room and accidentally find it. I really don't want to sell it. It's so nice and...glassy...and stuff. yea. you know.

yeah UofA! may I ask what dorm you're in? in dorms closer to the music and art schools, there is so much dope being smoked that it will be hard to determine what room its coming from. Still, I do know some pros who have gotten kicked out of there. My advice is to leave that thing at home or in your car until you make some chill friends that live in a nearby apartment or house who will let you store it there (s'what I did, because my roomate was anything but chill). You're right about us being a big party school, so making friends should not take long. Go Cats:jointsmile:

what kind of room do you have? at my dorms we say roommate, but we really mean suitemate, four people share a living room and bathroom, but each have their own actual room. if you have your own room, you don't need to worry about somebody going through your stuff. if you've been given contact information for you roommate(s), go ahead and start talking to them, just to get a feel for what they're like and go from there.

if it isn't a total pain to hide it, then go ahead and take it with you. once you find a suitable way to transport it, you'll have major fun with that thing. maybe not on campus, but i'm sure you'll find some parties/places off campus.

i didnt take anything to my school.. Ohio State. but they are really lenient and etc on rules in my dorm. i got caught twice drinking and a friend of mine got caught smoking and nothing has happened to either of us. but my roomates.. all three didnt smoke and didnt want it around so i always hid it in my room. Later on in the quarter i found tons of people who smoked and we all became good friends. my advice is dont take it until youre settled in and get to know a few people especially since its a 2 footer. if it was a little piece why not it never hurts to be prepared... papers rock i always rolled J's and smoked them everywhere on campus during the day, night, parties etc. its just a good time. get shit done first, be safe, then smoke it will all work out in the end my friend

Amigo, don't bring it with you, at least for the first semester. Wait to get a feel for the dorm, your RA's, and your friends before you bring such a large illegal item. I'd suggest you sell it or lock it away until you come home again. If you have a douche roommate, he'll snitch on you. If you have a douche RA, then he'll try to find your shit. Basically, if you're going to smoke, don't do if for a few weeks in the dorms before you find out how likely it is to get caught. Someone will ALWAYS smoke in the dorm in the first few days and get caught, just don't be that person.
