* bows to delusions *

My cup runneth over, yet I stubbornly persist in expecting (and as often as not getting) the brown end of the stick.

Like the other day when I come back from fishing with sixty pounds of fresh red salmon (they didn't have a bit of red on e'm though) thinking I can just basically drop off the cooler at a buddies house who has a big enough freezer, all preplanned, and go home and have a beer take a shower and go to sleep.

But not surprisingly, he's drunk, his wife is drunk, and they're obviously dumbfounded at the amount of fish. Drunk people and filet knives together tend to lose people fingers, and he wants to make up a bunch of fillets... so I have to basically do everything, catch the fuckin fish, gut em, pay the air freight, then rinse them all off and bag 'em for the freezer, and meanwhile he's giving the damn fish away to his neighbor, a co-worker, probably would trade it all for a big bag of coke if he could.

But I saw that part coming, using my sith powers of negativity, and just got so much fish that he would almost have to start handing it out to homeless people to get rid of even half of it. Calculating this fellows nature, he's way to much of an asshole for that (sith powers).

On the upside, I have the 'problem' of having to many fish to literally even fit in my crappy little apartment freezer.

I just want to know how Patten's men would be perceived, as optimists or pessimists. I can't find that poster that had thiers (or some other soldiers) saying that ended in something like -

"...we have been doing so much with so little for so long, that we are now qualified to do anything with nothing".
