I've had kidney stones three times. I never take pain meds, but what I've been told to do is keep moving, drink plenty of water to help flush it through my system, and just wait for the stone to pass. My stones have been very small. You're a guy, so your tubing is a bit longer in there, and guys can have a rougher time because of that and if they have larger stones. I'd be wary of smoking simply because it adds to the dehydration problem that's already helping you have a proclivity for kidney stones. Are you changing your diet to eliminate stone-o-genic foods and making sure you're drinking lots more water?
