Newbie Mistake!
Well i definitely showed how much of a newb i am. i have a week old seedling that was growing very nicely, but i am afraid i killed it. it was doing fine, sitting to the side of my 400 watt hps lamp, but for some reason i decided to get greedy and put it directly under the light last night. i woke up to a basically dead plant. poor thing. either that or my cat did it, but i don't think it was my cat.

Newbie Mistake!
Well shoot it probably dried out.
At least it was only a week.
I STRONGLY recommend that growers, especially when you are just learning the plant, start out under t5 (large tube) flourescent shop lights. They burn very cool, much cooler than CFLs, adn give you a large measure of safety when you are just getting started.
I run under shop lights up until the point when I decide to sex a plant and put it in flower, or make a clone a mother. Only then does it do under any sort of HID.
