There are MANY products out there which you can use to deter vermin without harming your plants. One of these products is called liquid fence. Also, there is another products called Goffer getter which is a bacteria that the moles (yes it isn't exclusive to goffers) eat and take back to all their buddies in their tunnel city and infect them all.

image reaper- thanks for your reply- question? I have read on this site that when you use molasses for carbs supplement to make sure you get a brand without sulphur- a lot of emphasis has been put on this- so I would assume the plants will ingest the sulphur with harmfull results . true or not

most hardware stores sell these mole 'thingies' ... they look like a fat firecracker ... all they are, is a sulphur stick, similar to a road flare ... (the sulfur won't hurt the roots, in my experience with them) ... you just light it, stick it in a hole, and cover any other holes you find ... you will see smoke coming out of the ones you didn't find ... they work fairly well ... I also tried the exhaust from a motorcycle, dryer vent hose from the muffler, didn't work as well ... :smokin:

The only sure fire way to control moles is using a trap. A positive kill. The next best is baits that can be injected into their runs. Forget the liquids and powders that go on the ground, they do not work. Also forget about those ground vibration contraptions. Useless
The good thing is moles are carnivores. They are looking for worms and what not to eat, not your plants. Some people even think they can be beneficial to help aerate the soil.
