Technically correct, but in essence not so much. While the IP and logs probably wouldn't be enough to get a warrant, it could easily be enough for them to get a subpoena that they can take to your ISP and ask for all your contact info as well as your surfing habits. It would be up to your ISP as to whether or not they'll fight the subpoena, but don't hold your breath

It also depends on how damaging your logs are. Even though it's on a pro-MJ board, a thread like this won't hurt you. But some of the grow journals I've seen ARE enough to get a warrant, once they've established who actually took the pics and made the posts.

As far as internet security goes, if you're posting any thing, especially pics, regarding growing, purchasing, or possessing any significant quantities then you better have some sort of proxy set up. For the most part, the best ones cost money and the very best ones are located in the EU, especially in Germany, which has some of the toughest privacy laws in the world.

Alternately, consider using Tor (google it heh). Tor uses basically the same techniques that hackers use to hide their tracks - it daisy-chains data requests through multiple computers located all over the world before the request actually goes out to the web. The main difference is that a hacker uses involuntarily hijacked computers and the network Tor uses is created by people who have given permission for their machines to be part of the network. The effect is the same though - a randomly changing IP address that's almost impossible to trace.
