He was a Stalinist that tortured and killed thousands in Cuba, mostly supporters of the previous regime of Batista. He put anyone opposed to his ideas into concentration camps, many of which are still operating in Cuba - where religious sects?? members, homosexuals, dissidents and other people deemed undesirable by the government are sent.
