Like them, hate them...? I love them because, while they're definitly rougher, they feel more real, solos and stuff can be longer, and it's always great to hear how much the audience loves it...

Yeah i loved the Tupac live album, especially because of the bits where you get to hear them talk with the audience and stuff and tell them why the wrote a song and what it really means to them, also if its not some crappy lip sync (which is most cases it isnt unless they're just come crappy artist) then its even better imo. The Bob Marley album live was great aswell! good topic man.

Thanks, man....yes, talking to the audience is one of the best features of the live sound.

The new release of The Song Remains the Same will certainly blow us all away. As for live albums, they're the tops.

I love live albums, especially if you havent been at the bands concerts. It sort of gives you an idea of what its like although you can never re-create the feeling of a concert on a cd or dvd, thats why festivals and gigs are still so popular. I really like when the artist or band lets the audience sing parts of the song and you can hear the whole crowd singing. Like I said before concerts are the best, listening to live iron maiden albums gives me shivers up and down my spine since I seen them live last year.

My favorite band Grandaddy sound totally different live and their album versions. It's great, some of the the same songs are redone countless times and it sounds awesome.
I like live material as much as produced material. As long as it sounds good, that's all that matters.
