Newbie in need of good advice.

Everybodys a noob at some point. I toke alot, and been around people the first time they have ever tried it. No biggie, you'll probably cough quite a bit. Don't try to take HUGE hits, go a little at a time and then sit back and chill :smokin:

like everyone else said, just tell them your new to smoking and just remember you can always sit out a hit or two to see how your feelin and you could always join back in, theyll understand if you stop a long time before they do. also remember if its their weed NEVER tell them to stop. i hate that.
good luck, youll be fine besides THEY invited YOU to smoke with them so they must think your cool and youll look even cooler once you smoke with them.

Me smoking with these guys would defanitely be a good social networking thing for me to do. These fellas are not really "friends" per se....more like business associates.
That's part of it I suppose. I "want to fit in", and it's a "cool" thing to do.....but the other reason is that I actually *want* to get high. I'd like to try it out (what has stopped me in the past is the illegality issue). This would be a good opportunity for me to try weed because every time they get together, a joint ends up going around.
With regards to "coughing" like a dead newb giveaway, I don't think that would be the case as I smoke cigarettes.
Next time a joint gets passed, I'll just take a toke, not say a damn thing, and just chill.
What I'd like is some good advice from veteran smokers about what to expect, and what to do.....or more importantly, what NOT to do.

the high, you get from pot is almost impossible to explain, and the effects are dramatically differnet from person to person, so describing what will happen to you in itself isnt possible, however there are many common side-effects from weed. These include, hunger, euphoria, and a differnet mindset, or a changed way of thinking about things. Through my years of smoking i find the best way to describe it would be that it simply enhances all your senses, and just makes everything better. Lights usually look brighter and deeper, feeling is enhanced, smells are stronger, taste of course is greatly changed. The only thing i can advise is that if you manage to get really high, you may have these great epiphinies (spelling is terrible i know) , however usually these great thoughts arent really that great and to one who isnt as high as you, they may seem stupid and annoying. Try to talk but not alot, and dont share every thought that crosses your mind.

For your first time, do not drink heavy and smoke, this makes alot of people sick.

Alot of times people who smoke for the first time do not even get high. It took me a couple times before I really got high so dont be surprised if it does nothing.

If you do get high, your friends will know right away its your first time getting high so deff tell them.

It hit me like a ton of bricks when I first got high. Could not stop laughing but after a little bit I started to freak out...like wtf was going on I cant stop laughing. Just relax and have fun and remember...you will come down from your high.

EXPECT - To enjoy yourself, to like being high, to uncontrollably laugh, to have a good time and socialize and to get hungry as fuck. (Pros)
To get too stoned. To feel uncomfortable, to get in awkward situations, to not know what to say. (Cons)

TO DO - Take your time. Bring sugar sweets, or have some food with you incase you need sugar intake. ENJOY.
Make sure you keep proper rotation of the joint, if it got passed to you from the left, keep passing it left.

NOT TO DO - Throw the joint away without asking if everyone has finished toking. Get TOO high. Ramble on/pointlessly talk/mumble.
TRY TO FIT IN TO MUCH.

My advice would be to tell them that you haven't done it before. If they are going to act differently toward you just because of some minor thing like that then they aren't really friends. And, I know I do this, when I find someone who has never smoked before they end up getting smoked up (for free) A LOT
