Newbie in need of good advice.

I'm old, 29, but am completely new to smoking pot. I've been around it a lot, but have actually never smoked.
I hang with this group of artists that are venteran smokers. I want to start smoking, but am wondering if I'll just make a fool of myself with these guys. They don't know I'm a newb. They'd never expect it, because I drink like a fish.
I'm wondering about dosage. As a brand new smoker, I understand that the same amount of cannabis will F me up considerably more. Is there some associated negative stigma......for example, with alcohol, if one can't "hold their liquor", there is a negative stigma associated with that.
I'd like to start smoking. If I started doing it with these guys, would I more than likely make a fool out of myself??!

Does anyone have recommendations about how to hold the intoxication down?....like "don't talk too much", or "don't giggle like a schoolgirl", etc. I'd like to fit in with these blokes.
If I get too F'd up, would a good enough excuse be, "I haven't smoked in a year"?
You see, being a newbie is kinda emerrassing for me to admit to these dudes.

You won't make a fool out of yourself if you smoke with them. Just inhale your hits and don't keep them in your cheeks.

What happens when you get too fucked up?

there is nothing wrong with admiting that you are a noob. just tell them that you have never smoked weed before and would like to smoke with them. trust me they will not laugh at you and stuff theyll show you the ropes. just inhale properly. just dont act stupid and annoying which you can tottaly control.

Alright dude, my advise would be to tell them your new to smoking pot. It's nothing to be ashamed of o_O, I'm sure if they are actually cool people they will show you the ways them selfs, and even enjoy mentoring someone new.
If thats not possible, still be open with them about not knowing what your doing, it will be obvious if you pretend and you will feel alot more comfortable getting stoned with these guys if you are on the same level.

Cannabis is like alcohol in the way that tolerance builds. You couldn't drink a whole bottle of vodka if its your first time getting drunk without being ill, so don't go and smoke alot without being aware of the intensity.
Just take it slow, when you feel nice, stop. If you don't like it, you don't like it... If you do, well enjoy

you would probably laugh for no reason for a long time, and probably say very random dumb things. but why isnt it a good option for you to tell them that you are a newb??

if you guys smoke a joint, make sure your lips are dry first, and dont put the joint in your lips, just up to them. i hate when noobs get joints all wet with spit. so gross.

The best way to act normal when you're first starting out is just to go with the flow, don't try to act too normal or you'll end up looking worse. I'm sure they won't mind if you're new though. Good luck :thumbsup:

If you're too scared to tell them you're new to smoking it sounds like you're doing it just to fit in..

If I were you I'd tell them you've never smoked before, because no one hates anything more then someone who lies about it and is a total noob, "oh yeah I've smoked before" then you take 1 drag off their joint and you start coughin up a lung they'll know whats up and probably laugh at you and joke behind your back or something

If they won't let you smoke because you're new too it, they aren't really your friends and I would find someone else to smoke with who doesn't care how experienced you are.. and in all my days of blazing I've never seen people hate on someone because they're new to smoking. I personally love taking virgin lungs and I'm sure lots of other people do too but don't act like a retard and just chill and enjoy it, don't yell or talk about stupid shit just to seem like your high
