would this make a good cab.

    Storage boxes
    its an action packer...
i was thinking about starting a plant from a some bagseed that i got here in the bay area.... so anyway... i was thinking about training the plant like you do with apple trees so they grow horizontally . so that it will end up looking like a snake; moving from side to side ..
Lighting will probably be CFLs just because they are easy to get .. but im not limited to them..
do we have any growers here that have tried this.. take care
    and smoke on!

I use one similar and have had great results.
I picked up some T5 full spectrum floros and cable tied them to the "ceiling" of the box.

I have them on a stand to keep them close to the light and can lower the stand as they grow.
I drilled 2" holes in the bottom and used some plumbing pieces to make an intake and taped some pantyhose on the end to keep bugs out.
I found a small 4" desk fan and cable tied that to the inside and my circulation is great.
I started 14 seeds and now 5 weeks in I have 12 females and average height is 14 inches. they are in 8" pots and fit tightly right now.

The box works well for raising from clone or seed however is probably not good for flowering. I use a 4x4x8 box with screen for flower.

I'll post some pics for you later tonight if you want to see.

    thanks for the post.
yeah that would be great to see...
i have really been looking at the lighting that i would use...
i have been to one of the hydro stores around the area here.. and i have seen some pretty low profile light setups that are less than three inches thick... and had like 6 lights in the unit...
do you think that one could use a low watt HID or should one go with CFL's or reg florescent
cant wait to see those pics.
    smoke on!

Are you looking to flower in the same "room"

I use it only for veg and clippings as the T5's are not great for flowering.
I tied at 5 weeks (from seed) and sexed 5 days later for 7 days.
Now they are back to 18/6 until the final room is ready.

I covered each piece with black/white plastic prior to putting the box together. Gives a nice seal and something of a finished edge.

Since I can't post pics here I will put them in the basic growing forum.
Let me knwo what you think. The whole "house" cost me $350 everything included.
