    grow box heat problem



    I Made a grow box out of a 22g rubbermaid tub.

    It have 4 cfl 26w light bulb in it.

    With a computer fans on the side to get the air out

    It look great but it get very hot and very quick too.

    So i dont kno wat to do.

    more fans or ones that move more cfms?

    make sure you haven an air intake.....any 'warm' air removed by your fan needs to be replaced by cool air outside your grow area.

    I mounted pc fans next to my cfl's AND cut a hole in the side of the box to mount a small desk fan onto, as an exhaust. I still have to cut a hole and mount an intake fan. Which fan should be more powerful? the intake fan or the exhaust?

    If they don't match, set up the higher rated as exhaust- you can always add unpowered intakes ( aka more intake holes)
    I assume you understand that we have options on your time,

    you generally want more air intake than exhaust

    i've always used passive intake and active exhaust
