First Grow - need help (pics)

I have problems with my babys, could not find an answer to the problem - Please help. :rasta:

I grow 4 plants - 2 super skunk, 2 sativa (forgot the kind) :stoned:

Age - 4 weeks
Climate - 26-28 Celsius, 78.8-82.4 Fahrenheit
Humidity - 36-43 %
Light - 400w hps
Fertilizer - Bio Grow 8.0-2.0-6.0
Soil - Bought one
Soil container - 44*35 centimeter
Soil quantity - 33 liters
Size of closet - 1.1*0.7 meters = 0.77 meter^2

I am using AC connected direcly and only into the space of grow. Two vent from the inside, NO air inserted to that area. I open the closet once a day for 30 minutes in order that fresh co2 will go in.

Problem - Leafs are becoming yellow at the ends as shown in the picture.
The problem started at the age of 2 weeks. I tried to play with the amount of water given - since it is a large container - nothing helps. I tried to water all the area of the containter so that water will reach to all roots. Some of the leafs are becoming green again. The plants are erected - so i do not belive that over watering is the problem.
I've read that this problem is due to high (B) borron and that i need to buy borron acid in order to help.

I think you absolutely NEED more ventilation. You are suffocating your plants.
Also, what type of soil is that? You;ve got some lockout symptoms going on- Sulfur is locked out for sure. I think you may have a pH issue as well. And how are you doing for drainage in those bins?

Need to know things like PH levels, if you fert with ever watering or not, ect. Take PH readings from the top of the soil, as well as the bottom. Also take PH of water before watering, then as watter comes out of the bottom of the plant, take that PH as well. Post this info and you will get more accurate response. I dont want to tell you exactly what it is with out all the info, could get it wrong and mess up your plants.

That being said this is just a broad guess.... Its does not look like N deficiency, but does resemble Magnesium deficiency. Also could be a iron deficiency, but like i said with out the extra info, its hard to tell. But the way the yellow is only on the older leaves, and moving from the out side inward, (the stem is still green) it looks like one of the problems I listed above. It also could be nute lock out, which would cause the deficiency in the first place. PH problems and salt build up can cause the plant to stop taking in certain nutrients, resulting in deficiencies. Your new growth looks fine, so thats a good sign that you can easily fix this problem. Hope this helps, try and get some of the PH readings to see whats going on in the soil. And remember, the top of the soil can be very different from the bottom, so take PH on both.

I played with a few things:

1. Took the lamp a little higher.
2. Disconnect the inside fans.
3. Activated an air flow from an outer fan so fresh air will go in.

I suspected that the inner fans were just too strong and were damaging the plants. I found Evidence for that on the tin foil that was ripped all over, my guss was that if the fans damage the tin foil it might be damaging the plants. Look at the the picture.
I will know for sure after elimination of the each factor by it's own.

The babys look a lot better and i can't wait giving a taste. :rastasmoke:

Get rid of the foil and turn the fans back on!

Foil is not good to use. White paint is a lot better than foil, if you can't afford mylar ($2 at Walmart).

It's good that you have intake air now, but that is no substitute for interior air movement. MJ loves a breeze. Because of the way my grow area is set up, I sometimes have skinny-stemmed new clones right in front of a 12" oscillating fan. The plants will bend wayyy over when the fan passes - looks like a palm tree in a hurricane - then bounce back as it moves on and they do this all day long and pretty soon I have plants with very strong stems and I've never damaged one yet. Anyhoo - keep the air moving inside your grow area.

yeah you need both exhaust and inner movement.
you can accomplish both at once with an active exhaust and an intake that is at the furthest possible point in the box from the exhaust, like exhaust at the highest corner and intake at the lowest corner on the other side. the 4"duct booster fans at home depot are the right size for a cabinet grow, do active intake AND exhaust and you will be fine, and you can still run a very small fan inside the box if you want.

and no tin foil!
