Will it be safe to smoke at my new apartment?

I'm moving into an apartment on campus next semester. I'll be on the 3rd floor, but my window will be facing the path to the apartments. Though the path is sparsely used, would I be safe smoking in my 3rd floor room, or would they be able to smell/see the smoke from the path?

I'm not trying to get expelled for smoking.. that would be quite the rude awakening for my parents.

Also are there any precautions I could take to avoid notice from outside?

If you're worried about people outside smelling it, don't open the window. I smoked in my dorm room a few times a day last year and was fine. I just put a towel under the door, blew the smoke through a doob tube, and used this orange chronic air freshener spray before and after I smoked. Worked great.

don't open the window until the next day to air out. use some freshener like Oust or some like Dreamskies mentioned. get some citrus shit. i have a ferret so i have an excuse to use air freshener all the time.

Doob tube + incense = not being caught. (gotta use a pipe or bong though)

PureSativa.com Orange Chronic Smoke Out Air Freshener
Thats what I was talking about. Never had anything that works as good as this. Little pricey but its worth it, It's all I've used for years now. Just takes a few sprays and an entire room will smell like oranges, and not like pot at all.

lol smoke out of a pipe or bong... get a toilet paper roll, stuffed with dryer sheets (i put a strip or two of tape so i don't blow the sheets out), put a towl in front your door, lite insence or use some form of freshner (febreeze, whateva)

    BEWARE THE NARC...

I'm just curious as to where the smoke will go... I'm definitely not trying to get the whole apartment to reek of weed, and I'm not trying to set off any fire alarms (I'll turn off mine, but I'm not sure about my roommates)..

The Orange Chronic stuff seems intriguing... I'll probably invest in a can if they sell it in a nearby headshop to check it out.

after a little bit you open a window man... you keep your apartment smelling clean by dusting and vacuuming followed by cleaning/freshning

dusting goes the extra mile, but it makes a smell difference, it helps in the car too.

OK, a Vapor Brothers will put you back about $150 (inc S&H), but it is well worth the cash! First off, vaporizers don't smell up the apartment like a pipe or joint! Virtually NO SMELL! Even my mildly scented Japanese incense is more than enough to cover any bit of odor. My adult sons don't toke (they disapprove of their sweet old hippie Momma who tokes all the time, but they love me, none-the-less), and they are much happier since I got the VB.

Then there is the fact you use less weed for the same high. Your lungs won't get clogged up. Really! I have toked for 40 years and pot had messed up my lungs. Two weeks of vaping and my cough was gone and I could breathe! MUCH HEALTHIER!!!! Fewer tars, carbon monoxide, etc.

And if that isn't enough, the pot you have left over from vaping, isn't ashes, it's still bud and can be used in brownies. YES! You can get high twice off the same weed! I make brownies about every 3-4 weeks. They are quite effective!

Just on the reduced smell, you should get a vape! When you add in all the other benefits, it's a "no brainer"! - Granny:hippy:

    Haha thanks for the advice.

Yeah I've considered it but a bunch of my close friends at school have vapes so I plan on buying a pretty high-quality bong.

My next purchase is going to be a vape gun, so I can blast hot air through my pHx and I won't hafta worry about smell anymore.
