    Home Test Accuracy

Does anyone know the accuracy of those home kits vs. the lab tests? If you pass a home test, is it safe to assume that the lab test will be passed as well, or are the standards different?

The home test and a lot of lab tests are 50 ng/ml for THC. If they send it to GNS though they will test it at 15 ng/ml.. so no, I would not say it's safe to assume if you pass a home one you will pass a lab one.

I'm sorry - I understand the difference between the numbers, but am not familiar with GNS. Could you please elaborate?

It's a more in depth lab test using gas.

if you FAIL a home-test, you're probably screwed ... if you PASS a home-test, you will only pass, if they also use a 'cheapo' test ... your $10 home-test doesn't compare to what they have now ... for instance, your home-test doesn't look for any 'masking agents', which all serious tests utilize (and update frequently to stay ahead of the 'competition') ... hair tests, gas chromagraphy, etc., can bust you for years' worth of usage ... the good news, most companies hate spending money on drug testing, they are usually forced by their liability-insurance companies to comply, so you are likely to just face a 'cheapo' test ... :smokin:

Well, I didn't use a masking agent and took one hit in three weeks and regularly test negative on the home FDA approved test. Still a little nervous about the real deal coming up in two weeks.

It's GC/MS and although the test are at 15 ng/ml doesn't matter. If you can pass a home test you will pass the GC/MS. All the GC/MS basically does is eliminate "false positives" by testing for 1 THC metabolite instead of 31, which eliminates false positives.

Excellent information, thank you. It is alwas nerve wracking to have to take a pre-employment test. And since I would never consider going to work after smoking anything, It is a little outrageous too.
