Gorgeous rose- is it a Peace?
Damn japanese beetles! They say to pick them off and drop them in soapy water, but yuck, I hate touching bugs! After they denuded one of my climbers, I planted borage near some of my roses, since it supposedly deters the bastards, and borage has cool-looking edible blue flowers.
But the japanese beetles then moved on to my flowering tobacco- I try to flick them out, but the buggers hung on, so I spritzed a few with neem. So next year it's borage everywhere!
Demeter Reviewed by Demeter on . The only rose the junebugs haven't eaten The other day I got home from work and noticed this beautiful thing peeking around the back side of my rose bush. It is the only one that hasn't been devoured by the junebugs. When I seen that it made me smile. Nature has so many beautiful things, and most of the time we never take time to appreciate it.
