    Any Overclockers Here?

Yo just thought I would ask if anybody here knows about overclocking or is into it. Right now I've got my four year old Intel Celeron taking out new P4's in synthetic and real world apps. It's pretty awesome, helps with the gaming.

I dabbled into OCing a couple of years back. I had just built a computer with an AMD64 3200+, and got it up to 2.6G and stable. However I've stopped with it as I only play war3 and saw no benefits outside of benchmarks. xD

don't really need to anyways.... i've got dual core and 2 gigs ram... even with 20 diffrent windows/programs going i still haven't got it to bog down lol...

if its running that well already, i would leave it alone. if it aint broke dont fix it, is my motto. after burining out 1 cpu, 2 motherboards, and 1 psu.
    at the moment running
    amd 3600 64
    2gig corsair matched ram
    lan party mother board
    6900 gt
    and 3 x 200 g hdd
    runs sweet as
    AMD ALL THE WAY

but i have a sony via for when i dont wanna be stuck in the office, at the moment its brilliantly sunny outside. so im sat with a beer and my top enjoying this site, some tunes and checking my mail

what mac u got, my mate at uni got one of the new macbook pro with the dual core and it was proper slow. like from out the box with nothing on it, it took an age to load up and i proper love macs. i just hate the mac guys in the stores. i went into the store to buy a 12" old school 12" power book and got in such an argument with the guy in the store over clock cycles and intel not have in true quad core as in physical architexture, that i left and bought one from ebay. nob head
    jonathan ive rocks tho

Overclocking is a great way to save money.

When I built my PC a few years ago I wanted an Athlon XP 3200+ but it was $130. So I instead bought a $75 Athlon XP-M 2400+ (Mobile CPU, but it is exactly the same as the 3200+ except AMD set it to run at 1.4Ghz @ 1.4 volts) and OC'd it to 2.2Ghz/1.65V, the same speed and voltage as the 3200+. Saved $55

    Yeh AMD rock,
currently running a fairly stock speed system

    AMD64 3400+
    2 gig corsair ram
    Jeantech PSU
    7800 GS OC

Im currently building a system, im just really bitter that im gonna have to buy a kentsfield quad core, because AMD have basicly left the table with thier current production of high end CPU's.

Its a shame because I am very loyal to brands that work for me.

New system Is based on a Lian-li case, an Intel (cough) quad-pro, Corsair 8500 ram and nvidia 8800 GTX.
This will be coupled with a thermalright 120 ultra heat sink with a 120mm noctua fan.

the current problem being wether to go for a ddrII or III mobo, ive pretty much settled on a gigabyte P35 mobo, and eriously looking at the one that takes both ddrII and ddrIII, althought the factor holding me back is that this boeard insnt as versitile as high end ddrII boards in terms of OC potential, and ddr3 is vcery poor value formoney at the mo.
