I found this absolutely disgusting. These children learned nothing from this except how to flop on the ground and grovel. These police officers are using aggressive behavioral modification techniques. Changing how kids behave around handguns or rifiles. Essentially they are training them to be snitches for the police department. They will be fearful of legitimate firearms. While Bush is using 9/11 to keep Americans petrified, police departments across the country are using the Columbine and Virginia Tech shootings to run psychological operations on school kids.

ALBANY, Ore. - For students, fire drills and earthquake drills are simply the norm, but on Wednesday, in a sign of the times, students in Albany took part in a school shooting drill that was very intense.
This may have been only a drill, but it's just about as real as it gets.
"Basically, the weaponry is the same weapon we carry on duty," said Albany Police Sgt. Travis Giboney. "However, they use a marking cartridge: kind of like a paintball, except it's a gas-driven paint pellet."
Two counties' worth of law enforcement, and a couple of dozen student volunteers, took part in this active shooter drill at West Albany High on Wednesday.
"It's kind of scary at first," says sophomore Matt Groshong. "You can even feel the gun when it goes off, and when it hits, when the bullets hit, it's all so realistic, it's just weird."
There are many unknowns, but one thing's for certain -- there's at least one shooter on a rampage.
As law enforcement heads into a situation, the kids who are playing the roles know what they're doing, and the bad guys also know what's going on. But these guys don't know what to expect. In that sense, it's the same feeling they'd have if they walked into an active shooter situation.
The bullets are replaced with paint, and the good guys always win, but the cops and the kids say they're better prepared for the worst.
"I don't think people think about it happening at their school, because they're like, oh, that doesn't happen here," said sophomore Jake Blecker. "But I mean, potentially it could happen anywhere, and so it kind of gives you an experience of what it would be like and how scary it would actually be."
There are about 100 law enforcement officials from Linn and Benton Counties taking part in the training, which continues through Thursday. Officials debrief each group after their simulations to talk about what they've learned, and how to improve.

Any comments from the volunteer students they used saying they were terrorized? I remember doing a drill senior year with the local fire department and hospital. Goal was to see how they reacted to a call for a flipped over school bus. Apparently it was a failed goal of theres to "terrorize" me of local fire and rescue! Shit happens and when you don't train for it shit gets worse. Like the Virgina Tech shooting, PrisonPlanet complained the cops stood behind trees scratching there asses, now they prep and its a police state? Couldn't the police officers get their training without invading our public schools? The aim is to prepare our schools for the worst-case scenario, which is OK. The harsh realities have already been exposed to them. I guess what I'm trying to say is that government does things to give the people a peace of mind, to win votes, but in the end they really cannot protect you.They can blanket your eyes with an illusion of safety: security cameras, metal detectors, transparent backpacks, etc. There is always an end to tragedy, no matter how it begins. It will happen again, and again.

I remember fire drills.....tornado drills.......we just live in different times with new threats. They (the students, administration, and police) need some type of training besides "This could happen".

I've seen news video and first hand accounts, that when these poor kids have these drills all the kids come out running wit there hands up, sorta like what happens when the police force has A REAL crimnial surrounded........Gotta love the 21firstcentury thus far....wheres my flying car......

The students act it up. I had to play up a broken wrist. Running and screaming would be what you see if it was real. Imagine if a student went running by a swat member and startled them coming around a corner. This in real life is not just a small amount of kids but hundreds if not more in larger cities. While it wouldn't be safe to train with a full school of students at least they get practice in the field. Schools out for summer.. there empty.. and i'm sure free for them to use. Plus they used mini paintballs basically and kids had eye protection on. Seemed safe to me. I play paintball and they don't hurt.

Its like learning CPR before you actually have to use it on someone. CPR can save a life if practiced but its not 100% you'll be a-ok. With better training you have a better chance.

Yes, but why use kids for the training? Why not take half of the police force and use them as background actors? The way I see it, it's a move to emphasize the fact that these bad guys are always waiting, and that everyone should be prepared at all times to succumb to the state will or else bad guys will surely kill them. How come in war games tanks don't come down city streets and fire paintballs at local businesses? Because it's not anything local civilians should worry about unless it's actually happening. Don't forget, the U.S. wasn't even originally supposed to have a continuously maintained army except in times of war... do you think we would have invaded Iraq so callously and without any meaningful debate if we would have to raise an army from scratch? The main point is to reinforce the feeling that armed forces are needed at all times to keep an eye on everyone.
