Heres how to make a lightbulb vaporizer i tried it a few days ago and it worked perfect, in typical vaporizer fashion there was no smell and the smoke was much cleaner. If you're interested, here's how to make one:

Take a burnt-out, regular sized lightbuild, and smash the cermic/metal end of it (shown in the red circle) with a spoon.(edit: Try a bulb that isn't burnt out if you want, but I hear they might implode or crack once you break the seal.)

Well it also depends on the bud but roughly about 2inches.

since you punch two holes and only one is sealed by the straw wont some of the vaporized THC leave through the second hole?

what i do is plug both top holes while it is above the flame, then i uncover both to hit it. but the his is really dissapointing with this, i only got like 2 good hits, and the rest didnt have that much vapor, and the high was really clear. not as hazey and good as others. and the weed i had was the best bud i ever smokes, when i did it through my bowl, but horrible through my vape.

What I'm wondering about this (and other small vapes like the VaporGenie) is how hot the air is when you inhale. My biggest problems with pipes is that my throat gets burnt occasionally, and I'd like to prevent that from happening if possible.

Also, for the amount of weed, you just need like a pencil eraser-sized pinch, right? Less weed, more highs - and you can use the leftovers for baking too, from what I hear.

Nah, the smoke is about the same temp as a bong. Also, I am going to answer my own question, and yes, it is possible to crack the bulb by applying too much heat.

Clean out all the wires, pieces, and bits of ceramic from the bulb. Next you MUST clean out the white frosting that coats the inside of the bulb. Shake some hot saltwater around inside the bulb. Try some water mixed with dishwasher detergent too. Rinse the bulb clean and let it dry (you don't want to be inhaling steam). It should be completely clear like this.
