I COULDN"T HELP MYSELF, so i need help

They opened a hydroponic store about 5 mins from my house. SO...... Hydrofarm - Hydrofarm EMSYST Emily's Garden System

i bought a little premade 6 plant DWC kit... so now i need to build the best grow room/box i can, but i only have tricky spots to put it. think attic crawl space

so what i want to know is, i need a design that is quiet, not stinky, and as compact as can be around the system, without really hindering the plant. maybe a cabnit... i will SCROG. i want at least 40k-55k lumens... i don't know much about air flow/ temp and all that, or what works for smell...
i can insulate the hell out of anything, build whatever, and i already have black pvc vapor barrier, mylar, growroom disenfectant, the actual system kit, andhydroton

SO, i know most of the people in the know here wouldn't buy a prefab DWC (i mean hell i have to light proof around the pots) but what would yall build (Superstealthy) in my situation? Zandor? i plan to eventually make a little a little veg chamber, but for now....

hey fellow grower..I have the same emily 6 plant system, I use it in a closet 7ft high and 3x3 wide an deep. 400 hps for the 12/12 and 2-65watt (500watt output lights of america) cfl's for veggin. The emily garden works great, doesnt use too much water and if you use distilled water you dont have to change it out every week...oh and get a siphon because the little drain tube takes forever to drain the damn thing...hit me up for more info, im about to harvest my emily garden grow in a week...NLxBB and some good schwag bag seed..peace from new mexico

How much room do you have to work with in the attic (specific measurements)? How do you access the attic? What is the climate like where you live? Is the attic insulated? Does the attic have vents? If so, through the roof or the gables or both? :jointsmile:

ok i think i have the attic room dealt with but it is basically 10ft x 40ft crawlspace, with a max heigth of 5 ft all the way to zero heigth, get it? it is sitting in a crawl space hidden because of a room that was put in the middle of the attic... that room wall that creates this space is r-19'd, i r-19'd the exterior walls as well, and the floors/ rafters... i also caulked from the inside all visible seams to the exterior. it is vented by a grate on one wall that is about 1'x2' maybe a little bigger... and 8"x1' on the opposite exterior wall...

i have some of the pink 1" foam insulation board to put in the rafters above the grow space, as well as tar paper and black plastic vapor barrier...

i am going to put the black plastic over the entire area; roofs, exterior walls, floor, and main wall... not too mention tar paper over the r-19 on exterior walls, and floors.... i will create a grow space out of black plastic around my grow unit... i am gonna get a 400w but am afraid it is too short...

i live in the south east btw... think; memphis, charolette, atlanta, birmingham.

i know i need to get a fan for the whole space... but don't know how to run all the air shit,,, like which vent to fan.

for the space, i have 6" air ducting, an inline 240cfm fan,thermostat, and an oscilating fan

the house doesn't have central air... but one of the attic rooms has a/c and a heater...

I too used an Emily's Garden for my first crop, and it worked nicely. I did find that I had to refill daily by the time they were ready for flower, so the small reservoir was my only complaint (and the crappy airstone, replace asap for best results).

When I removed 3 males (crop from seed), I addressed the reservoir issue by cutting down a dog's water bowl, the kind you set a two-liter in to add water. I fit it into an unused square and set a bottle of solution in it adding 2L to my capacity. Do this twice (two squares) and you've doubled your reservoir.

i am using emily's now as my vegging system, and i made 6 , 3 gallon DWC buckets for flowering


i just take the little drain plug out, put it on a little angle, and walk away.. it does take forever with the drain tube.

i am having to compete with heat right now, and all i use at the second is 7 cfls... i got my 400 watt mh/hps ready but not hooked up till i combat the ventilation issue... my room stays at around 74-80*F right now... so i have to get time to make a cooltube, and reflector for it. i am giving the seedlings a dilute mix of liquid karma and GH Supernova Grow

they are responding well... i usually always give a small amount of nutes to seedlings, and these little badseed puppies are responding well... i made my own little seed starter with a couple bottled water, bottles (cut in half, use the bottom to hold 3 starter plugs), stuck it in a shoebox, i sealed with tape, covered in mylar, than topped with saran wrap... it works fantastically as well... i will probably end up putting a buffer peice of cardboard on my ballast, and sitting the greenhouse on it, for the heat.

Here's a link to a thread pertaining to a cabinet I built, which is really quite nice and overall fairly stealthy. You could probably flower in it (although I built it for vegging), just by swapping cool tubes for warm ones. Or by putting two 400 watt lights in there in cooltubes. Might need a tad bit more height for flowering, even with ScroG, although I've seen it done with less height than this box. Not enough room for any 4'x4' systems, but I know for sure I could fit 18 3-gallon square pots in there, if I needed to.
