    Stupid Question Time

OK here it is people - just something, that was buggin me..

I have 6 feminized plants growing right now - see other threads for details.. Is it possible to develop hermie's due to stress, heat damage, too much heat ?? I know what males look like, its just that i've just noticed tiny little "blobs?" at each internodal growth from about 4th onwards - i'd show but my camera has no macro. Certainly doesn't look like male growth to me. Mmm just not sure.

I know, probably a dumb question, I'll hang my head in shame if needs be! :stoned:

Yes, you can develop herms from all of the things you mentioned.

Are the blobs on a stalk? =male
Are they snug in the node, with a pair of tiny hairs? =female

Herms, oh my. Such is the risk you run playing with so-called 'feminized' beans.

    Stupid Question Time

Hi stinky, nice to hear from you - you're growing reputation precedes you..

Well they're from good stock, (dutch passion).. I just feel my heat/humidity is too high, (2 x 400w MH) although i wont have a thermometer, or humidity tester (is there such a thing?) till next week.. Getting another fan in the room next week too (2 fans then)..

Growths are snug in the node, although no hairs yet Stinky; my thoughts are female, definitely.. Will post as soon as I know, but thanks for the experienced opinion!

Do you have an opinion on optimum temps & humididy for veg/flower? Bear in mind i'm swapping to 800w HPS for flowering...

    Thanks again...

    Cool!
Yeah, keep your humidity around 35-45% IMHO... below 50 is said to be the norm but I prefer a little lower just in case. For heat, 68 night, 78 day (farenheit, sorry... I think basically ~20-25C?) is really nice, and make sure the difference between night and day is about 10 degreesF, but not more than 15.
There are plenty of cheap thermometers that also show a %RH number. Just poke around your hardware shop and see if you can find one. I paid something like $6 for my thermo/hygro combo at stupid wal mart.
Snug in the node is a good thing. Watch for hairs in a couple days at most. They will be hard to spot at first. If instead of hairs, it grows up out of the node on a stalk, you have problems.

Thanks Stinky, your opinion is gladly taken!

Just checked on them again, 5 outta 6 are showing sex, and i'm 99% sure, all female. I have a runt of the litter, she's a bit slow, and a bit deformed (strange 3 way leaf formation), will post a pic tomorrow.. just thinking bad genes with this one but will be interested on your opinion next time you're on.

I'm ok spotting a male, had a few of them to examine before. Look like balls. BALLS IS BAD! haha.

Thanks Stinky, will keep you all updated.
