Theres traces of mescaline in some cactus aside from peyote. Mescaline is not really a buzz it's more like taking LSD. Most of the cactus species, however, have such a small amount of mescaline that you would have to eat alot of cactus to feel any kind of effects. And for most species like pterocereus gaumeri if you ate enough cactus for a adequate dosage of mescaline you would probably overdose and get really sick or worse due to the presence of other alkaloids and terpenes.
trichocereus pachanoi is a common landscape cactus in southern united states and contains about 0.1% mescaline so if you ate a decent quantity of cactus (probably about 6-12 inches) you would likely feel mild hallucinogenic effects. There many different proposed methods of preparation on the internet but my guess is that eating a cactus is probably not to tasty.
