Elevation and growth rate?

Hi, im new to this community and this is my first time growing. I planted some seeds about 4 days ago and i already have about 6 sprouts, im really happy:D about this. I was just wandering if elevation affects growth rate or anything, cuz i live in western North Carolina and im on top of a pretty high mountain, im asking cuz i know elevation can affect other things such as boiling time, and i couldn't find any info on this subject anywhere else.
