Will a dryer sheet filter work?
I might not be able to get my hands on all the supplies needed for a carbon filter, and I was putting my doob tube away when I had the great idea to make kind of the same idea, only more ghetto, using a pop bottle or some such, mosquito netting and dryer sheets. Will this filter smell out if I use, say, five layers of dryer sheets inside?

Sorry bud, but IMHO probably not. How come you can't get your hands on all the parts for a carbon scrubber? Everything from the DIY on this site is readily available at hardware stores, as I built one myself and I am not the handiest person in the world. I suggest doing this if you really want to cover the smell......
Just my two cents. Peace, good luck!

If you can't get your hands on activated carbon, I've heard of people using kitty litter crystals instead. You should be able to get everything at a hardware store, pet store (where I believe they have the carbon also), and a dollar store (or anywhere that sells pantyhose).

Nope.
The best you'll get with that is it might smell like laundry AND weed...
For about ten minutes, then just weed again.

Hey, if you do decide to build the DIY carbon filter, and your not a girl, have fun buying the pantyhose, the clerk definitely looked at me funny when I slapped 4 packs of pantyhose down on the counter......
HA! :rastasmoke:

LOL
Aye, when I built my scrubber I went through the same bit of fun, except I had to ask where the hose were... and then I felt I had to explain that I wasn't using them for their intended purpose... then she looked at me like I was going to rob a bank.
And I have used Kitty litter crystals, they work fine in place of carbon.

LOL, that's definetly a tough one... Be caught wearing pantyhose, or be caught by a jelly fish... Worse yet, your wearing the pantyhose, get stung on the arm and need to be resuscitated on the shore while people gawk at you.
and your pantyhose.
