Legal question

Me and a friend of mine started working with a company in the U.K. (we are in the usa) All started out good, us selling their products via ebay then they got kinda shady and I fulfilled my contract and told them to fuck off more or less. Well my friend we will call him D he decided to make some quick money and sold one last product for them and instead of sending them the money after they shipped the item to the buyer he just keep it (around 2gs), now all they have is emails back and forth nothing was ever signed or no real documents were sent or anything just some emails back and forth about how we were to sell their products and how much were to make and what not. All they have is his name address and phone number as well as his ebay info, He already spent to money and now is getting worried.
I told him not to worry about as they are from the U.K and have no company contact in the U.S beside ebay agents. Let me know if you need more info on the situation.
So can they do anything to him and if they can what would it be?
