If your gonna do it you should clean it. Idk though, when I was an unacompanied minor on a late flight, I got taken through the security room by this nice lady and I asked her what this huge machine was. She said it was a scanner or something to check for drugs and weapons. But I am fairly certain that you could get away with it, I have gotten lots of things through airports, but nothing illegal, just suspicious things.

Think I would be good with just sticking in a pocket of say a pair of jeans within my suitcase? FYI I would be checking the suitcase as baggage, not carrying it on.
