    First grow, estimate finish?

Hi, my friend is on her first grow and her parents are going to be stopping by in 3 weeks, so she wants to be harvested by then. Can any experienced grower take a look at these pics and give a rough estimation of when they should be ready?
Is 3 weeks cutting it close?

They are grown under a 400 watt hps in soil. The strain is unknown. It was bag seed from most likely what would considered to be "30s". The pics are posted as attachments.

    Thanks.

gonna be close, even with a bit of luck (I have no idea what '30's' means) ?? ... from the pics, I would guess it has been flowering a couple weeks ... IF the leaves were wider, indicating more indica, you 'may' finish in time ... BUT, your narrower leaves suggest more sativa influence, requiring more time ... I suggest taking them to the very last minute your schedule allows you ... I predict you will finish with another couple weeks to go, but that will still give you a decent smokeable plant ... will probably have more of an 'up' buzz, and less of a body-stone ... don't over-feed it, stop ALL feeding a couple weeks before you plan on harvesting ... :smokin:

    First grow, estimate finish?

Hi, thanks for the reply. Maybe more information would help. It was started outside and it was noticed to be a female and it was brought inside under 12/12. It has been under 12/12 a month. So the first female pistil was present a week or 2 before that.

So from your experiences plants will look like the one I posted after 2 weeks of flowering?!!??!

PS. "30s" is what we call regular weed in my area. 30s is in between schwag and dank.

    First grow, estimate finish?

I usually have my plants under 18/6 from germination, then 'vegetate' for 7-8 weeks ... by that time, I will usually have my pre-flowers showing, and have a big enough plant to ensure a decent yield ... then, after a couple weeks of 12/12, I would normally be at the stage you are in your photos (of course, I'm looking at a photo, you are seeing the entire plant up close) ... I picked a photo of one of my grows, at random, it's of a roughly 50/50 hybrid ... photo is one of Day 76, that would be roughly the 14th day of 12/12 ... similar, I guess, although my plants in my pic, were grown under all fluorescent tubes, it was before I got my 400HPS ... your plants look good, you should wind up OK, regardless ...

ok gotcha thanks. I would account for the slightly slower flowering time to the fact that I have no idea what genetics are. so these can be long flowering/mostly sativa. Plus the fact that temps in the grow room hover between 80 - 95 degrees. Sometimes it gets to 100 (although I am skeptical of the cheap device I use to measure the temperature.

Am I right to assume higher temps can cause a plant to flower longer?

    even more info -

The germinated seed was planted 4/5
A guesstimate of the first sign it was a female - 6/18A guesstimate of when switched to 12/12 - between 6/24 and 7/01

So given all the info I have given you would you still suspect there is no need to worry? And 3 weeks - 1 month more would prolly be time to chop?
